Wedding at Seewirt's Strandhaus, Chiemsee

Wedding Film | Seewirt's Strandhaus | CHIEMSEE
Nathalie and Philipp celebrated their wedding at Seewirt’s Strandhaus surrounded by their families and friends.
What I particularly liked about filming here was how much the landscape naturally became part of the day. Instead of disappearing to another location for a long couple session, the lake, trees, beach and surrounding mountains already provide plenty of space to step away for a few minutes.
That’s usually how I prefer to work.
A few minutes away from everyone, without turning the wedding into a photoshoot.
Wedding films from Lake Chiemsee and the Bavarian Alps
Lake Chiemsee sits between Munich, Salzburg and the Alps. Close enough to the city, but with a completely different atmosphere once you’re at the water.
For weddings, that combination makes the area especially interesting. Open landscapes, the lake, the mountains in the distance and locations that allow large parts of the day to happen in one place.
I document weddings around Chiemsee in a natural, unobtrusive way, focusing on what actually happens rather than creating moments for the camera.
A wedding at Seewirt's Strandhaus
This wedding took place at Seewirt’s Strandhaus in Übersee, directly on the southern shore of Lake Chiemsee.
The location combines an indoor event space with its own outdoor and beach areas directly beside the lake. Ceremonies can take place by the water, while the Strandhaus itself keeps the lake visually present through large glass fronts.
For a wedding film, it creates a lot of variety without constantly moving between locations.
Getting ready, time with guests, the lakeside, dinner and the evening celebration can all become part of the same visual story.
Getting married at Seewirt's Strandhaus
Seewirt’s Strandhaus is located in Übersee am Chiemsee, in the Feldwieser Bucht on the southern side of the lake.
The venue is particularly interesting if you want the wedding to feel connected to the outdoors rather than spending the entire day inside a traditional event venue.
There are several things that make the location work particularly well for weddings:
A ceremony directly beside the lake
A free ceremony can take place on the shoreline underneath the trees, with Lake Chiemsee immediately behind it.
Indoor and outdoor spaces in one location
The event area, lounge, bars, beach and lakeside areas are connected, which means guests can naturally move between them throughout the day.
The lake stays part of the reception
Large glass fronts keep the view toward the water visible even when everyone moves indoors for dinner.
Accommodation directly at the venue
The Strandhaus also has its own lake suites. Especially for getting ready, this can simplify the timeline and avoid unnecessary driving on the wedding day.
Chiemsee as a wedding destination
Chiemsee is a good alternative for couples who love the landscape of the Alps but don’t necessarily want a classic mountain wedding.
You still get mountains in the background, but the lake changes the entire atmosphere.
The area around Übersee has beaches, small harbours, boats and open shoreline, while the Chiemgau Alps rise just south of the lake.
That also creates possibilities beyond the wedding itself.
A welcome dinner by the water, a boat trip, a relaxed day with your guests or a short session somewhere in the surrounding landscape can easily turn a one-day wedding into a small destination experience.
For international couples in particular, Chiemsee also works well geographically. Munich and Salzburg are both natural starting points for guests travelling into the region.
