Jufenalm Wedding Film
Carina | Matthias
The gift of love
Wedding Film | Jufenalm / Maria Alm - Austrian Alps
This wedding carried a lot of emotion. Just a short time before the day, the bride had lost her mother and you could feel how much family, memory and presence mattered throughout the celebration.
But what made the day so beautiful was that it never felt heavy only. It was full of laughter, movement, honest reactions and small documentary moments between the couple and their guests.
I gave my best to reflect and respect all of the ups and downs in this film.
A Wedding Film at the Jufenalm
For this wedding film, I wanted the day to feel honest. Not too staged, not too perfect, and not like a music video that could belong to anyone but still give it time to breath, especially when switching and playing around with all the different energy and emotions of the day.
I already knew Carina & Matthias before their wedding at the Jufenalm. I had filmed Matthias’ brother’s wedding at Vinery LISZT in Burgenland, and after seeing their final wedding film, they reached out to me for their own wedding in Maria Alm.
Before the wedding, we also did a story session in Innsbruck. Because these two travel all the time and have already seen so many places together, it made sense to include something that felt more personal than just beautiful wedding imagery. Those little true-to-life details from the story session became part of the final film and helped show more of who they are.
Their wedding at the Jufenalm was relaxed, emotional and full of life. There was good weather, bad weather, big feelings, a lot of laughter and the kind of documentary moments that cannot really be planned. And that is exactly what I love about filming weddings like this.
The mountains are beautiful, of course. But the real story is always the people.
Why the Jufenalm Is Perfect for a Wedding Film
The Jufenalm in Maria Alm is one of those wedding locations in Austria where the setting already adds so much atmosphere. It sits in the Hochkönig region, surrounded by mountains, with a mix of alpine character, boho design and a very relaxed hideaway feeling.
It is especially interesting for couples who do not just want a few hours at a venue, but a full wedding experience with their favourite people. The Jufenalm offers space for wedding weekends, accommodation, dinner, celebration, spa time and slow moments before and after the actual wedding day. That makes a huge difference for the film, because the story does not feel rushed.
For multi-day weddings, this kind of location makes so much sense. You can have a welcome evening, a relaxed morning, the wedding day itself, and maybe a brunch or slow day after. And around Maria Alm and the Hochkönig region, there is also so much to do with your family and friends. Hiking, mountainbiking, sightseeing, cable cars, mountain huts or just spending time together in the Alps.
That is exactly the kind of environment where real documentary wedding films can happen naturally.
Wedding Videography in Maria Alm, Hochkönig and the Austrian Alps
Maria Alm is a beautiful choice for couples planning a wedding in the Austrian Alps. It gives you mountain views, calm surroundings and a real sense of being away from everyday life, without feeling unreachable.
For international couples especially, this area can work incredibly well. Your wedding does not have to be only one formal day. It can become a few days with the people closest to you. Exploring the region, spending time together, celebrating properly and creating memories beyond the ceremony itself.
Whether you are planning a wedding at the Jufenalm, an elopement in Maria Alm, or a multi-day wedding somewhere in the Hochkönig region, my focus stays the same: real moments, honest emotion and a film that still feels personal years later.

Either way, I care most about the story behind the day. The people, the atmosphere, the small moments, the things you might not even notice while they happen.
