An Intimate Wedding on Alpe di Siusi
Katrin and Simon’s wedding on Alpe di Siusi was small, intimate and incredibly personal.
Surrounded by their closest friends and family, they celebrated high above South Tyrol with the Dolomites and the unmistakable Schlern in the background.
Nothing about the day felt staged or overly planned. It was simply about having the right people in the right place and enjoying the hell out of it.
A Ceremony That Actually Felt Personal
Their ceremony was led by their witnesses. People who actually know them, love them and have been part of their story.
And for me, that is pretty much how a wedding ceremony should feel.
Not generic. Not something that could have been written for any couple.
Personal stories, inside jokes, genuine emotions and the people closest to you standing right there while you get married.
It made the whole ceremony feel less like a formal part of the schedule and more like one of the most meaningful moments of the day.
Live Music, Mountains and Everyone Singing Along
Later in the day, Timbreroots brought a completely different kind of energy.
With live music, their own songs and plenty of tracks everyone knew, it did not take long until pretty much the whole wedding was singing along.
It was one of those moments where everything just worked.
The music, the people, the weather and that ridiculous Dolomites backdrop.
No big production needed.
Just a really good day with a lot of energy and people who genuinely wanted to be there.
A Wedding Film From the Dolomites
This is exactly why I love filming weddings in the mountains.
The landscape is spectacular, obviously. Alpe di Siusi is hard to beat when you have the Dolomites stretching out around you.
But the mountains are never the actual story.
The people are.
My films are about keeping the little things that happened between all those impressive views – the reactions during the ceremony, friends singing together, people laughing somewhere in the background and all the moments you probably did not even notice while they were happening.
That is what Katrin and Simon’s wedding film is about.
